On October 9th, 2025, GZAAT celebrated Rtveli, organized by the school culture committee. The event took place in the school’s front yard and brought together students and teachers for an afternoon full of fun activities, good food, and teamwork.
During the Rtveli, students made churchkhelas, played frisbee, made mtsvadi, and enjoyed spending time outdoors. The atmosphere was cheerful and full of laughter as everyone took part in different activities.
According to many students and teachers who attended the Rtveli, it was a great way to bring the school community closer together. They said events like this help people connect, relax, and make school life more enjoyable. Some also mentioned that they would love to have more events like this in the future and that next time it would be nice if the festival took place not only in the front yard but around the whole school.

Journalist: What did you think about Rtveli this year?
Eli Georbelidze, A Junior High student: I think events like Rtveli are really nice because they bring our school community together and help us celebrate our culture. It’s a great way to learn more about our traditions and share them with others. Everyone enjoyed the atmosphere, and it helped us feel more connected.

Oliko Dautashvili, A Sophomore: I did not attend this event in previous years, and I’m really glad I stayed and joined Rtveli this time. I loved seeing the whole school community come together. It was a great way to connect with others and be part of something special.
The school culture committee did a wonderful job organizing the Rtveli and creating a warm, friendly environment for everyone. The day was a beautiful reminder of how simple traditions can bring people together and make school life even more special.
Journalists also interviewed the school culture committee members to get a better understanding of the Rtveli preparation process.
Journalist: What was the organizing process like?
Nini Shatberashvili: The Previous year, everything was unorganized and boring, but with the new team, everything went smoothly and easily, so thanks to every new member making this year's first activity planning simple and fun.

Taisia Koridze: First, we met on Zoom and discussed the plan. We wrote down everything that we needed to buy for the event. After, some of us went shopping and bought walnuts, plastic plates, cups, decorations, and many other things. There were many challenges we had to overcome, one of which was regarding the pot. We needed to boil the “badagi” to obtain “tatara,” and we found out that we could only do that if we used an induced pot, which was pretty hard to locate. Also, during Rtveli, we lost all of the skewers and ended up grilling barbecue on a special grill we luckily found in the storage room. In the end, even though there were many difficulties, we made it work. The most important thing is that we did it and made everything possible as a team.
Journalist: Where did the idea of Rtveli come from?
Natalia Mujiri: In previous years, alumna Irishka Osipova planned Rtveli at school. The school culture committee took the responsibility and made Rtveli this year as well, but with more fun activities like students making churchxela on their own.
Overall, this year's Rtveli was enjoyable for students and school staff as well. This event united the whole school, which was the most enjoyable part. A huge thank you from everyone goes to the members of the committee, who worked hard for this event to be good. For the future, students are looking forward to more fun activities organized by the school culture committee.
