Tesla May Face Another Racial Discrimination Lawsuit

Elon Musk, the richest man on the planet and someone who refuses to abide by the laws of political correctness, has become a target of the left. It was only a matter of time before the media found someone to accuse the company of racism and that is precisely what has just happened.

Tesla, the most valuable automaker in the world with a market cap of almost $1 trillion, may face yet another racial discrimination lawsuit. The company’s latest financial filings have revealed the details (if such vague descriptions can be called details).

According to the Daily Beast, “last week, former Tesla employee Kaylen Barker filed a lawsuit against the electric carmaker for allegedly disregarding her complaints of racial discrimination, saying that “being a Black worker at a Tesla’s renowned California factory, is to be forced to step back in time and suffer painful abuses reminiscent of the Jim Crow Era.” Perhaps Barker skipped one too many history classes because she would not have been allowed to work at Tesla in the Jim Crow Era.

The 25-year-old, who is black and gay, claimed that a white coworker repeatedly called her the n-word and “assaulted her with a hot grinding tool.” She has also said that after she contacted human resources, Tesla retaliated by withholding her earnings… Does this sound plausible? Not really. When someone assaults a person with a hot grinding tool, you would expect them to go to the police, not the HR. In America, where corporations that do not abide by the strictures of political correctness (although being racist is not just a violation of political correctness but just basic human decency) are heavily chastised and lose a huge amount of revenue, any single HR department would fire a person for using the n-word and launch an investigation. Especially, the most valuable automaker in the world. Even a racist HR department would acknowledge the harm of letting such an instance leak through to the public and what kind of monetary effect such allegations would have. Firing such people is literally their job…

The California Department of Fair Employment and Housing investigated “undisclosed allegations of race discrimination and harassment at unspecified Tesla locations.” The agency “gave notice that, based upon the evidence collected, it believes that it has grounds to file a civil complaint against Tesla,” the filing stated. To paraphrase: something bad allegedly happened at some time in some place. Yep, that will definitely hold up in court.

Actually, it might very well hold up in court.

This is not the first time that the Tesla factory in California has been accused of having a racist atmosphere -- and this accusation has already been proven.

Back in October, a jury found Tesla guilty of fostering a "racially hostile" workplace and the company was ordered to pay a former African-American employee $136.9 million in damages.

Furthermore, as this article mentions, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing -- based on the multiple complaints of racism it has received from Tesla workers -- has just filed another lawsuit against Tesla alleging "systemic racial discrimination and harassment at the electric automaker’s facilities," according to the Daily Beast.
