This year a new club was introduced to GZAAT’s list of clubs, the Global Business and Leadership Club (GBLC), a student-led club created to help students explore the world of business, finance, marketing and entrepreneurship through projects and global competitions. The idea for the club came from a junior, David Vacharadze.
“At first, I wanted to start a club about finances,” he said, “but I realised no one really had enough experience to teach it. Then I found DECA, a global olympiad about business case studies, however after talking with their team, I learned they don't operate in Georgia. After ten failed attempts to contact other olympiads, I finally found the
and the international business Olympiad (IBO). That's when I landed on the GBLC.”
GBLC gives students the chance to create business ideas, work on real life problems and get ready for international competitions. Members learn how marketing and startups work, how to lead a team and how to present their ideas with confidence, all through real projects.
Getting into the club wasn’t easy. Only 20 students were accepted after taking a written test, making GBLC one of the most selective clubs at GZAAT.
“It’s practical, fun, and useful for the future,” said Davit.
