GZAAT Media Club was announced at this year’s first assembly, alongside many other innovative clubs. The club aims to cover school-related events, such as sports, field trips, present exciting programs, and conduct interviews.
The idea started from an interview recorded with Professor Stephen Jones. “It was then that Nikoloz Kvaratskhelia and I proposed the idea of a consistent YouTube channel just for our school, with such interviews and programs, then we got Mr. Levan Ghambashidze to agree to upload the debates there, and it sort of naturally came together,” said Zviad Tsetskhladze, club founder.
Last Friday, the school held the annual presidential elections, where everyone got together to listen to the candidates’ speeches. The media club stepped in and decided to do a live coverage of the entire process. However, according to Zviad, technical difficulties got in the way and created an obstacle for them. “We did a test run of the live coverage the day before, and I think the entirety of the media can attest that it worked well; however, the day we went live, all sound stopped working.” They tried to fix it, but they didn’t have enough time, nor did they truly understand the core problem, so they had to shut it down. Fortunately, they still managed to get recordings of the entire coverage – all the speeches, and the prefects addressing the school. “It is all being edited into a full-length video, which will be uploaded to the public.”
Despite this minor setback, the media will continue to implement more programs:
“We will upload the GZAAT forum (the debates) to the media, we will have sports coverage collaborating with the sports committee, we will have recordings of field trips, and we will continue to record GZAAT news like the one being edited now and set to post to YouTube once ready.”
Safe to say, GZAAT Media is committed to organizing more entertaining programs and debates throughout the year and giving the spotlight to further news that will take place in school. Let the debates begin!
