Doing Business with Hult

On Monday, September 25th, Snezhana Bilton, a representative of the university Hult visited GZAAT and held a short, informative meeting for any students interested.

Hult is a business school located in Boston and London. The main points that Snezhana chose to focus on during the meeting were the development of useful skills for students.

She introduced the common problem of students not having the required skills needed to easily adapt to the work environment after graduation. She explained that Hult does everything to help their students develop not only hard skills (professional skills) but also soft skills (personal skills). In the ever-changing, technologically advanced world we live in, it is expected that on average, a person will change their profession at least 7 times in their lifetime. This has never previously been the case, which is why Hult stresses the importance of developing soft skills in order to thrive in the modern world.

Hult focuses on giving students the opportunity to test their theoretical knowledge in a practical way. Students are able to work with real businesses, conducting projects where they work with real companies, such as facebook. Besides gaining practical knowledge and specific skills, these projects give students the chance to have a “business portfolio” by the time they graduate, which keeps track of all of the companies each student has worked with. This business portfolio makes students much more employable after graduation, showing that they have actually worked with real companies.

The meeting was successful and interactive. Snezhana asked a series of questions to members of her audience, giving little chocolates to anyone who answered or asked questions in turn. She made it clear that Hult has a very practical approach and methodology, and is a great place for future businessmen!
