Comeback Season: Goals and Spirit of the Sports Committee

With the beginning of a new school year, the Sports Committee is up and running with strong spirit and clear goals. After saying goodbye to the Class of 2025, the committee was in need of new leadership – a role enthusiastically taken on by the current seniors.

As stated by Eli Davarashvili, one of the three heads, “There is one clear goal – to bring back the hype and culture for sports as it was in the 2023-2024 season.” He wishes to restore the spirit and glory of sports to the school he experienced after transferring to GZAAT as a sophomore.

This academic year, the Sports Committee will consist of up to 15 members: three heads, ten board members, and a small media team that will cooperate with GZAAT Media and Culture Committee. The first meeting is scheduled on Monday, October 12th, with details of their exciting events still under covers for the time now. What is known, however, is that the committee will actively work with the captains of the school’s sports teams, who will serve as representatives and main initiators of sport-specific tournaments.

Since the leadership of the committee has completely changed, the new team plans to do a few things differently. Most notably, they are introducing a decentralization approach: the new heads wish to give more freedom and responsibility to each board member, allowing them to independently organize diverse events. This approach has already been put in practice, as seen in the recent frisbee tournament organized by board member Vito Khazaradze.

Wishing the sports committee success in reigniting the energy, pride, and excitement that define AAT sports!
