AAT Freshmen Reign Victorious Against All Other Grade Levels in a Heated Football Match

GZAAT hosted an exciting football championship between all five grades. Lado Kavtaradze, a sports committee member, conducted a draw during the school’s assembly, where everyone was separated into different groups.  The stakes were high, and the players were ready to fight. Starting on November 19th, groups made up of classes’ best footballers competed against each other. The important question is, which class came out as the winner and which went home? Before we answer that, let's see how the players felt during the games.

8th graders Nikoloz Bendeliani and Gega Kondakhishvili said that the most challenging moment was in their last game, against 11th graders. They had to defend themselves in the last 10 seconds but weren't able to - the juniors scored a goal. The 8th graders said their opponents were way bigger and stronger, so it was hard to fight back, but they hope for improvement in the future.

Senior Giorgi Jakobia said it was hard to stay motivated because very few classmates stuck around to cheer on his team. “It felt like there was a lack of energy and motivation, which made the experience less engaging and more difficult to stay focused.”

After three days of matches, the opponents in the final match were the freshmen and the juniors, clashing in an intense final.

Rezi Kirvalidze, an eleventh grader shared that he was confident the juniors would win the tournament. They played as a team, putting in that group effort, scoring goals and boosting each other;s confidence. However, they were defeated in the finals and the freshmen class was crowned as the winner of this year’s soccer tournament.

This year’s sports matches have officially started so stay tuned for further games!
