Robbie Robinson is currently undergoing medical assessment, and Benjamin Cremaschi is sidelined with a sports hernia.

Inter Miami predicted XI: Callender; Freire, Kryvtsov, Allen; Ruiz, Busquets, Redondo, Alba; Campana, Suarez, Taylor

Inter Miami will be looking to return to winning ways in MLS regular season action after the team's midweek cup success in the second leg of the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup Round of 16. Led by goals from striker Luis Suárez, captain Lionel Messi and winger Robert Taylor, Inter Miami earned a 3-1 win over Nashville SC at Chase Stadium to win the series with an aggregate score of 5-3 and clinch a quarterfinals berth.

Inter Miami will aim to extend its current positive record playing on the road against D.C. United, having won 2-3 on Sept. 22, 2022, and earned a point with a 2-2 draw on July 8, 2023 in the team's most recent visits to Audi Field.

Inter Miami attackers Suárez and Messi have been in fine form thus far this season. In all, Suárez has recorded four goals and five assists, while Messi has tallied five goals and two assists. Notably, Suárez has scored four times in the past four matches.

Versatile attacker Taylor is currently tied for the most appearances in Club history with 82 across all competitions and may become the player with most appearances for Inter Miami this weekend against D.C. United.

Additionally, midfielder/defender Julian Gressel is approaching an important milestone in his career. In his eighth MLS season, Gressel has totaled 69 career assists, tied for the fifth-most among active MLS players. With an assist against D.C., Gressel would become the fifth active player to reach 70 career assists.

The visitors will be without world-class superstar Lionel Messi, who was injured in the midweek continental fixture against Nashville SC. Messi scored a goal and assisted another in an emphatic win for Tata Martino's side, but he was withdrawn in the 50th minute with a hamstring injury and has been all but ruled out for this weekend's game.

Messi has been brilliant this season for Inter Miami, but the club has not managed to compile a winning formula in his absence. They faltered last season in the playoff hunt with Messi sidelined due to injury, and their only loss thus far has been with the Argentine out against CF Montreal to get rest.

D.C. United are unbeaten through three games this season, having topped the New England Revolution in the opener at home followed by draws against Portland Timbers and FC Cincinnati both on the road.
